Wonderful article by Kishoo Barkur. I completely agree with the writer’s views on the sadistic mentality that exists among some people.
Yes, we encounter such individuals around us every day. Every person has hidden side thoughts, intentions, and motives that may not always be visible to others. They live among us, are known to us, and often pretend to genuinely care about us. Yet, behind that façade, some may be driven by greed for name, fame, recognition, and personal gain.
Such people may remain our good friends as long as we agree with them and never question their actions or intentions. But the moment we confront them, cross-question them, or challenge their hidden motives, another side of their personality begins to reveal itself.
That is when the real face emerges from the reality that was hidden behind the mask all along.
Every fallen feather of different birds becomes an excuse for them to pick at, twist, and use to justify their presence, their words, and their actions. They create their own imaginary bird of untruth and then pretend that whatever they have done is right, convincing themselves that, because of them, the world has finally come to know the “truth.”
However, they forget one important reality: just as they try to expose others, there will always be someone who eventually exposes them to their true intentions, their hidden motives, and their sadistic mentality.
The sad reality is that such people are often known in society for their greed, selfishness, and hunger for recognition and personal gain. Yet, in all this drama, we sometimes forget the other side of the shore: the family, the home, the society, the community, and the innocent individuals who are deeply affected by the consequences of such greedy and destructive behavior.
What they throw into the world as “truth” may eventually become nothing more than their own discarded trash. And by the time they realise the consequences of their actions, others may already have taken advantage of the very mess they created and scattered everywhere.
In the end, truth does not need a mask, a story, or an imaginary bird. Time has its own way of revealing what people truly are. Sad part is that these people are well mannered, educated but gossip is their daily bread. When will we change? Little basic manners of privacy, confidentiality, respect for the human this all a person needs.
